All About Corrective Lenses
Corrective lenses are used to treat people who have myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia. They can be in the form of glasses or contact lenses. The strength of the lens all depends on the persons eye. There are seven different types of corrective lenses which are single vision, bifocal, trifocal, progressive, adjustable focus, aspheric, and plano. Single Vision lens have the same focal point on the whole area of the lens. Bifocal is where the upper part of the lens is used for distant vision and the lower part is used for closer vision. Trifocal is just like the bifocal lens except it has a third part for people who have intermediate vision. Progressive is a smooth transition from distant correction to near correction. Adjustable focus allows people to have clear vision for any distance. Aspheric lenses are just a thinner lens. Plano is used for people who like to wear glasses or colored contacts but have absolutely clear vision.
